Get Ready for Welcome Week

Starting the first day of classes, next Tuesday, Welcome Week is your chance to dive into campus life and build connections!

Kick things off with Rowdy Winter Wanderer Bingo on Tuesday, explore student organizations at the Student Involvement Fair on Wednesday and wrap up the week with Glow Golf on Thursday. These events are the perfect way to get excited for the new semester and meet fellow Roadrunners.

Look Out for Financial Aid Funds

Exciting news! The first round of financial aid has been disbursed. If you've set up direct deposit, watch out for it from Monday to Thursday, depending on your bank. If you don't use direct deposit, you will receive a check by mail to your address on file. To make sure you get it smoothly, just hop over to the Student Hub and update your info.

Get or Bring Your Campus ID Badge

Your campus ID badge gives you access to buildings, so don't forget it your first week. Don't have one? No worries! Visit the ID Station in the Tivoli Student Union with a government issued ID and your spring schedule (or a completed ID Authorization/Charge Form).

Plan Your Campus Travel

If you plan to drive and park on campus, register your vehicle with AHEC using your campus ID to avoid paying the Night and Weekend parking rates.

If you're headed to the ID Station, be sure to pick up your RTD Spring CollegePass while you're there. The RTD Mobile CollegePass gives you access to local, regional and airport bus and rail service.

Grab Your Textbooks

Avoid the last-minute scramble — find out what textbooks you’ll need for your courses now. Search for your textbooks and course materials online at the Campus Bookstore. If a book isn’t listed, check your syllabus for required materials.

To check exactly where your classes are, log in to your Student Profile, click on 'Registration and Planning' in the left menu and select 'View Registration Information.'

Now that it's the middle of winter, be sure you're prepared for campus emergencies by signing up for the Emergency Notification System (ENS) to receive real-time alerts via text.

Opt-Out of Health Insurance

If you're enrolled in 9+ credits and already have compliant health insurance, you can submit a waiver to opt-out of MSU Denver's health insurance. Avoid automatic enrollment and charges for the SHIP premium by submitting your online health insurance waiver every semester.

Stay Alert: Don't Fall for Fake Emails

Scammers use phishing emails to steal your personal information or money. Be cautious of unexpected messages, especially those offering job opportunities or deals that seem too good to be true (like a $50 PlayStation) from unknown senders. Never share sensitive information like your social security number or bank details via email. Report phishing emails in Outlook by selecting the email, clicking "Report," and choosing "Report Phishing."
